Deposits at the mouth of Peregrine ravine on Kasatochi. The lightest-colored deposits, traversed by footsteps, are undisturbed 2008 eruption deposits. The mottled darker deposits immediately to the left of the footsteps are deposits of debris flows composed of the uppermost, fine-grained portion of 2008 deposits that formed in the waning stages of, or immediately after the eruption. The foreground and left side of the image show overlapping deposits of post-eruption debris flows composed mostly of water-mobilized 2008 deposits which accumulated in the ravine and were episodically transported downstream. See http://doi.org/10.14509/29718 for additional details.
