Text Description: Sample from top of pronounced lava bench on south flank. 1020’ asl. Fine-grained basaltic andesite with sparse microphenocrysts of plagioclase in a groundmass composed of 50% large plagioclase laths (0.5 x 0.1 mm), interstitial mafic crystals (olivine about three times more abundant than clinopyroxene), and microcrystalline to hypocrystalline material.
