| Text Description: | Pale white tephra that occurs approximately 41 cm below the surface and has a continuous horizontal exposure across the outcrop. Tephra S8514A and one unsampled, very thin, pale-white tephra overly this tephra, which is 2 cm thick. Loess occurs above this tephra, and a 1-cm-thick peat directly underlies it. This peat was radiocarbon dated at 3390+/-180 yBP. Another thin (<0.5 cm), unsampled, pale-white tephra occurs approximately 11 cm below this tephra. |
