3441: Average Tephra Microprobe Data
View table data :: Download table data (.csv)
* This appendix contains a summary of the microprobe data from a total of 14 Skilak Lake tephra samples. Those cases in which multiple populations have been discerned are indicated by capital letters following the sample number. The geochemical data are given in terms of normalized oxide weight percentages of a total of 9 elements. Also indicated are the standard deviations corresponding to the percentages and the total number of analyses (N) upon which the mean estimates are made. Note that the oxide weight percentages do not always sum to 100% due to rounding errors associated with computing means. The technique of microprobe analysis employed is discussed by Westgate and Gorton (1981) and Beget et al. (1991). *
