No activity was observed at Great Sitkin in cloudy satellite data from the past day. Seismicity remained low over the past 24 hours.
Great Sitkin Volcano is monitored by local seismic and infrasound sensors, satellite data, web cameras, and regional infrasound and lightning networks.
Seismicity remains slightly elevated with weak tremor observed over the past day. Discoloration of the snow observed at the summit of Mount Young in webcam imagery over the past days is still present and may be indicative of minor low-level explosive activity at the vent. Minor steam emissions were also observed in web camera views over the past 24 hours. No activity was observed in cloudy satellite data.
Small eruptions producing minor ash deposits within the vicinity of the active north crater of Mount Young and ash clouds usually under 10,000 ft (3 km) above sea level have characterized the recent activity. Additional ash-producing events could occur again with little warning.
Semisopochnoi volcano is monitored by local seismic and infrasound sensors, satellite data, web cameras, and regional infrasound and lightning networks.
A few small, local earthquakes were detected at Takawangha volcano over the past day. No signs of unrest were seen in cloudy satellite views of the volcano.
