Low-level unrest continues at Pavlof Volcano. The level of seismic activity remains low but above background levels and has changed little over the past day. No thermal signals or plumes were observed in satellite or web camera data over the past day. The general decline in the level of unrest since ash and steam emissions were observed on 28 July resulted in AVO lowering the Color Code and Alert Level to YELLOW/ADVISORY earlier today.

Although activity is currently at low levels, the degree of unrest can change quickly and it remains possible for ash and steam emissions to recommence with little or no warning. AVO is closely monitoring the volcano.

52°49'20" N 169°56'42" W, Summit Elevation 5676 ft (1730 m)
Current Volcano Alert Level: ADVISORY
Current Aviation Color Code: YELLOW

Nothing observed in cloudy satellite and web camera images of the volcano over the past day. No significant activity observed in seismic or infrasound (pressure sensor) data.
