Seismicity at the volcano has remained at low levels over the past 24 hours. No thermal features at the summit have been observed in satellite data, but the volcano has been obscured by clouds for most of the past 24 hours. Pauses in vigorous eruptive activity of days to weeks are common during eruptive episodes of Pavlof Volcano. A return to more robust eruptive activity remains possible and could occur with little or no warning.

SHISHALDIN VOLCANO (VNUM #311360)
54°45'19" N 163°58'16" W, Summit Elevation 9373 ft (2857 m)

Current Aviation Color Code: ORANGE

Seismic activity remains elevated, but has declined to a lower level over the past 24 hours. No ash plumes have been observed or detected in satellite images and thermal signals have been largely obscured by clouds in satellite data. Although the level of seismic activity has declined, it is likely that a low-level lava eruption is continuing within the summit crater of the volcano.

Nothing observed in satellite views over the past 24 hours. Seismicity remains low.
