No additional eruptive activity has been observed at Cleveland since the brief eruption at approximately 2330 AKDT October 2 (0730 UTC October 3). Nothing unusual was observed today in mostly cloudy satellite views.

The lack of a real-time seismic network at Cleveland means that AVO is unable to track local earthquake activity related to volcanic unrest. Short-lived explosions with ash plumes that could exceed 20,000 ft above sea level can occur without warning and may go undetected on satellite imagery.

SHISHALDIN VOLCANO (VNUM #311360)

Seismic activity at Shishaldin remains low. The Webcam has been inoperable since October 10, and recent satellite views have been mostly obscured by clouds.
