ALASKA VOLCANO OBSERVATORY STATUS REPORT

REDOUBT VOLCANO (VNUM #313030)
60°29'7" N 152°44'38" W, Summit Elevation 10197 ft (3108 m)

No significant changes have been observed at Redoubt volcano over the past 24 hours. Seismicity remains low, and webcam views from this morning show continued steaming from the lava dome. Pilot and ground observers report vigorous steaming from the lava dome today which is confirmed by satellite views showing a steam and gas plume drifting to the northwest. No ash signals have been observed in radar or satellite data. The hot, 2009 lava dome remains potentially unstable, and its collapse would likely result in significant ash production, hot block and ash flows, and flooding in the Drift River valley. AVO continues to closely monitor Redoubt's activity.



SHISHALDIN VOLCANO (VNUM #311360)
54°45'19" N 163°58'16" W, Summit Elevation 9373 ft (2857 m)
Current Volcano Alert Level: ADVISORY
Current Aviation Color Code: YELLOW

Cloudy conditions prevented views of Shishaldin today but it is likely that the thermal anomaly persists at the summit crater. Seismic, deformation, and gas emission data do not show anything abnormal at the volcano, and there is currently no indication that an eruption will occur. AVO will continue to carefully monitor activity at Shishaldin.


CLEVELAND VOLCANO (VNUM #311240)
52°49'20" N 169°56'42" W, Summit Elevation 5676 ft (1730 m)
Current Volcano Alert Level: ADVISORY
Current Aviation Color Code: YELLOW

Cloudy conditions prevented views of the volcano by satellite and web camera over the past 24 hours. No volcanic activity has been observed at Cleveland since the small explosion on June 25.
