Observers in Perryville could see Veniaminof occasionally this week during favorable weather conditions. A small steam plume was seen over the volcano when it was visible.
Weather clouds also obscured Kanaga volcano this week. Observers reported white steam clouds rising to 2,000 feet above the summit on Thursday September 8, 1994. Reports of occasional low rumbling were also received.

Seismic activity at Spurr, Augustine, Redoubt and Iliamna
volcanoes remains at normal levels.
The Alaska Volcano Observatory continues to seismically
monitor Spurr, Augustine, Redoubt and Iliamna volcanoes.
We maintain a computerized alarm system that is capable of
notifying AVO seismologists during non business hours
should unusual seismic activity occur.
