TerraSAR-X image of Kanaga Volcano collected on March 5, 2012. North is to the right. Note the fissure that runs along the south crater rim from east to west, and partly down the west flank. Total length of the fissure is estimated at ~600 m, and it developed sometime after October 2011. A short-duration explosive eruption occurred at Kanaga on 18 February, 2012, but it is unclear whether that activity and the development of this fissure are related.
